PeopleSoft FINS modules â€" Technical enhancements and fixes • 4 people full-time • Offshore / Remote • Very low-priced, but technically competent and focused developers • 6 â€" 12 months. They have a year-long deployment to hundreds of offices and a limited PeopleSoft technical staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Investigate root cause of issues that affect Pre Production Westlaw and other Pre Production West application problems that affect our Testers/Developers

• Assist in providing mitigation steps to resolve issues that are affecting Pre Production Westlaw users

• Communicate the status and testing/development impact of Pre Production Westlaw problems

• Analyze utilization counters to help determine and provide capacity planning for some Pre Production Westlaw infrastructure components

• Work with Java and C++ data mining tools to report usage trends, provide performance analysis and incident impact reporting

• Analyze all tiers of Pre Production Westlaw including mainframe components, UI, CDO, Report Generation and Middle Tier

• Work on multiple projects and manage time effectively

• Write design specifications, programming specifications, and documentation

• Effectively communicate timely and accurate status information to project leaders

• Seek out and share technical knowledge with other members across the organization

• Participate as a team member and assisting other team members where needed

Qualifications

Qualification:

BS/BA degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with a strong academic record

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of software development experience

• Experience with Java

• Experience with WebSphere 6.1

• Exposure to structured languages (PL/1, Pascal, COBOL or other related language) is a plus

• Exposure to OS/390, Windows and Linux operating systems is a plus

• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Experience in application performance tuning

• Ability to solve complex problems independently and to generate innovative solutions

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Quick learner, winning attitude, eager to leverage new technologies in a dynamic team environment

• Must be innovative and a 'self-starter'

• Java Certification preferred

• Oracle and SQL database experience preferred
